Send alerts to Squadcast from Postman

Postman is an API platform for building and using APIs. Postman simplifies each step of the API lifecycle and streamlines collaboration.

Route detailed alerts from Postman to the right users in Squadcast.

Using Postman as an Alert Source

  1. Navigate to Services -> Service Overview -> select or search for your Service. Expand the accordion -> In the Alert Sources section, click Add.

2. Select Postman. Copy the displayed Webhook URL to configure it within Postman. Finish by clicking Add Alert Source -> Done.

Important:

When an alert source turns Active, it’ll show up under Configured Alert Sources, you can either generate a test alert from the integration or wait for a real-time alert to be generated by the Alert Source. An Alert Source is active if there is a recorded incident via that Alert Source for the Service.

Create a Squadcast Webhook Alert in Postman

(1) Login to your Postman dashboard. Navigate to the Integrations section and select Webhooks. Under Post monitoring results, click on Add Integration

(2) Put in the Nickname. Choose the appropriate workspace and monitor. Paste the previously copied Squadcast Webhook URL in the Webhoo URL place holder. Click on Add Integration

That's it, you are good to go! Your Postman integration is now complete.

Whenever Postman fires an alert, an incident will be created in Squadcast for it. Once the errorCount and failedTestCount goes back to 0, it will automatically be resolved in Squadcast.
