Send alerts to Squadcast from Healthchecks

Healthchecks is a cron job monitoring service. It listens for HTTP requests and emails ("pings") from your cron jobs and scheduled tasks ("checks").

Route detailed alerts from Healthchecks to the right users in Squadcast.

Using Healthchecks as an Alert Source

1. Navigate to Services -> Service Overview -> select or search for your Service. Expand the accordion -> In the Alert Sources section, click Add.

1. Select Healthchecks. Copy the displayed Webhook URL to configure it within Healthchecks. Finish by clicking Add Alert Source -> Done.

Important:

When an alert source turns Active, it’ll show up under Configured Alert Sources, you can either generate a test alert from the integration or wait for a real-time alert to be generated by the Alert Source. An Alert Source is active if there is a recorded incident via that Alert Source for the Service.

Create a Squadcast Webhook Alert in Healthchecks

(1) Login to your Healthchecks dashboard. Select your desired project and head over to the Integrations tab.

(2) Under the Integrations tab, select Webhook and click on Add Integration

(3) Now, put in the Name and paste the previously copied Squadcast Webhook URL in the URL place holder for both down and up scenarios. Select POST as the HTTP Request menthod. Paste the json mentioned below inside the Request Body box. Then click on Save

That's it, you are good to go! Your Healthchecks integration is now complete.

Whenever Healthchecks fires an alert, an incident will be created in Squadcast for it. Also, when an alert is resolved in Healthchecks, the corresponding incident gets auto-resolved in Squadcast.
